About us

External Relations is the division of the university responsible for promoting strong and responsive relationships between the University of Victoria and the external communities it serves.

These relationships support UVic's active engagement in the issues, opportunities and challenges facing our region, our country and our world. We seek to build partnerships with individuals and organizations who share UVic's vision of contributing "to the betterment of a rapidly changing global society."

Under the leadership of Carmen Charette, External Relations functions as an integrated team, with the division's nine units working together toward common goals with partners, stakeholders and key audiences on campus and in external communities.
